Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026  |  Effective Date: July 13, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Clean Browser ("we," "us," "our," or the "Application") handles information when you use our Android mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Key Principle: Clean Browser does NOT collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data on our servers. Your privacy is absolute.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Clean Browser is built with a strict "Zero Logs" architecture. We explicitly do NOT collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Browsing history or search queries
  • URLs or websites visited
  • IP addresses
  • Device identifiers (IMEI, IMSI, Android ID, Advertising ID)
  • Location data (GPS, network-based, or cell tower)
  • Cookies or tracking pixels from any source
  • Keystroke data, form inputs, or authentication credentials
  • Contact lists, call logs, SMS, or any other device data
  • Usage analytics or behavioral telemetry

3. Locally Stored Data

Clean Browser stores certain data exclusively on your device's local storage to provide core browser functionality. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers:

  • Browsing History: A record of websites you visit, stored locally. You may clear this data at any time from within the Application.
  • Bookmarks: Website URLs you choose to bookmark, stored locally. You have full control to add, edit, or delete bookmarks.
  • WebView Cache & Cookies: Standard Android WebView cache and cookies required for normal website functionality, stored locally. You may clear this data at any time.
  • Application Settings: Your preferences and settings, stored locally on your device.

All locally stored data resides solely on your physical device. Uninstalling the Application will permanently delete all locally stored data.

4. Technology Stack

4.1 Android WebView

The Application uses the standard Android WebView component to render web pages. WebView is a system-level component provided by Google as part of the Android operating system. Its behavior regarding data handling is governed by Google's own privacy policies and the Android OS.

4.2 Ad-Blocking Engine

Clean Browser employs a local, on-device ad-blocking engine that filters network requests by matching URLs against a locally stored blocklist of known advertising and tracking domains. This filtering occurs entirely on your device. No browsing data, request logs, or blocked URL information is transmitted to our servers.

4.3 JavaScript Injection

The Application injects client-side JavaScript code into web pages rendered within the WebView to enhance user experience (e.g., hiding ad containers, auto-skipping video advertisements, and improving fullscreen behavior). This processing occurs entirely within the WebView on your local device.

5. Third-Party Services

Clean Browser does NOT integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. We do not use:

  • Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics
  • Facebook SDK or any social media SDKs
  • Any advertising networks or mediation platforms
  • Any crash reporting tools (e.g., Crashlytics, Sentry)
  • Any user behavior tracking or heat-mapping tools

However, when you visit third-party websites through the browser, those websites may independently collect data according to their own privacy policies. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

6. Permissions

Clean Browser requests only the minimum permissions necessary for core browser functionality:

  • INTERNET: Required to load web pages and content from the internet.
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required only if you choose to download files from websites.

The Application does NOT request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, phone state, or any other sensitive permissions.

7. Children's Privacy

Clean Browser is a general-purpose web browsing tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data whatsoever, there is no data to be collected from children.

Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring and controlling their children's internet usage and the websites accessed through any browser, including Clean Browser.

8. Data Security

Since we do not collect, transmit, or store any user data on servers, there is no centralized data that could be subject to data breaches. All user data resides exclusively on your device and is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, encryption, etc.).

9. Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You can:

  • Clear your browsing history at any time from within the Application settings.
  • Clear cache and cookies at any time from within the Application settings.
  • Delete bookmarks individually at any time.
  • Uninstall the Application to permanently delete all locally stored data.

10. International Users

Clean Browser does not transfer any data internationally because we do not collect or transmit any user data. All data processing occurs locally on your device, regardless of your geographic location.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Application after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
